In light of the rising level of terror attacks, it is important that the agency develops a continuity of operations plan to ensure that everything runs smoothly in the occurrence of such a threat. This letter details some of the basic aspects that relate to the various aspects of the operations that the agency will take (Regents of The University of California, 2016).
It is crucial that there is a response unit which is always on standby. This is a team of professionals that include doctors, electricians, nurses, firefighters and engineers. The multidisciplinary team, will be well trained and prepared for an occurrence such as a bomb threat (FEMA, 2016). All the rooms and corridors should be well marked to indicate the direction of the exits in case of a fire or a bomb explosion (Monash University, 2003). The first aid kits should also be placed in accessible places.
The team of emergency responders should use proper communication channels to exchange available information, for ease of decision making (FEMA, 2016). They should then assess the level of the threat to determine the best cause of action. The team should the...
