The workplace has been and will always be dynamic. The future is expected to be different than the present, with common aspects to note being; accessibility where businesses will appear as startups, the management structures will be unclear, targets high and short times allocated for tasks (Pivot, 2013). Also, various trends are expected to emerge as already seen. They include women taking up leadership roles in organizations, continuous job searches by employees, widening skills gap, embracing of technology among others.
Technology plays a great role in the future of the workplace. The use of informatics will break down communication hierarchy, as messages will be delivered directly to the intended party. The greatest advantage of technology being the flexibility to work remotely and make business connections globally (Mayhew, 2016). However, despite the many positive impacts of technology in the workplace, it is expensive to embrace making few companies advantaged over others.
