Boundaries should be drawn on free speech. Words are powerful and can trigger a significant conflict. This is the main reason for drawing boundaries on free speech, which should always be driven by honesty, respect, facts, and peacefulness. Hate speech is a relative term that is interpreted differently by people. What I consider hate speech may not be hate speech to another person. However, some conversation contexts may trigger bitterness on a section of people, and the perpetrators of the conversation are aware of that. For example, speaking ill about the black race in their presence amounts to hate speech, making them uncomfortable. Regulating such inflammatory contexts is necessary for peaceful coexistence.
