Question 1
According to the authors, applied anthropologists could be used to impact change through the rituals of the community rituals can facilitate change (Ferraro & Andreatta, 2014, p 19 ). They can help in moderating conservativeness in humans by incorporating potential shift in behaviours. Social institutions could be used in Iraq to impart a positive change in the communities that experienced the war so that they can change the relationships and perspectives of their neighbours (Ferraro & Andreatta, 2014, p 52 ). This would facilitate reconciliation that forms the basis for avoiding such animosities in future.

Anthropologists would gather knowledge from the different communities and use the information to advice the military on how better they can handle the communities as they heal from the war (Ferraro & Andreatta, 2014, p 55).
