Each week, you will reflect and respond to a set of questions regarding that week’s readings. Your response should be 1.5-2 pages or about 500 words and will be submitted on GauchoSpace. For this week, consider the following: How do we contend with the fact that geoengineering projects need to be implemented on an international scale and immediately if we want to manage climate change in the next decades and that this is not possible? (This is an impossible question in some ways, but how would you go about dealing with it?) How are these solutions of growth, engineering, and innovation tied to the Anthropocene? Go further than the obvious "humans are doing this."

International Geoengineering Projects, Climate Change, Growth & Innovation The current state of quality of life is increasingly under pressure due to rapidly changing climate conditions. In recent years, calls have been growing to reverse current
deteriorating climate change conditions and, ideally, to find innovative alternatives to current economic activity means for production and consumption. The calibration of political, economic, social and cultural conditions to adapt to new climate realities is, put succinctly, a growing cation call for years now.
The Environmental Movement might have started, initially, a process of global action to contain growing negative impact of climate change on natural ecosystems. The complexity of climate change, against a parallel complexity in economic and social shifts has, however, changed climate change from a problem of environmental sustainability into a challenge of deeper political, economic and social change. The underlying rationale informing climate change has, more specifically, shifted grounds from differences over carbon-emission reduction rations (and accompanying minimal shifts in economic activity) into a global debate about wider changes in all areas of human activity. This is evident, for instance, in a changing discourse about fossil fuels as mere sources of energy into a petroculture defining modernity and current ways of life (Petrocultures Research Group, 2016). Being reframed away from a means of fueling economic growth and to a whole culture shaping everything in modern life, fossil fuels open up new future for energy generation, development, consumption and, more importantly, shift into renewable alternatives.
The control of weather, performed for military purposes for years, assumes, accordingly, new meanings under changing paradigms to climate change. The growing need for
