Introduction
The Good Shepherd, made of marble, was sculptured around A.D 300, but the artist is not known. On the other hand, the Bust of Caligula artwork from the Metropolitan Museum Art was sculptured in A.D 37-41 by Augustus, and it is made of marble. Analysis of the artworks will be instrumental in showing how similar or different the two pieces of art are and their impact in their respective museums.

The history of this statue dates back to the times of the Roman Empire. Both pagans, as well as Christians, appreciated the statue. The Good Shepherd statue is attributed to Constantine church. Followers of the church saw it in good faith to come up with a representation of values they thought represented their beliefs. Since the Romans were Christians, they saw it fit to have a visual representation of God in a Christian way. Observing the statue, one notes that it stands on a dividing line, making it essential.
Analysis of the art
The Good Shepherd art shows an individual carrying a sheep on their shoulders. As it is told, the individual is the representation of Jesus Christ. One thing that comes in mind is that Christ is a good shepherd who takes care of his sheep. The image comes out clearly as a testimony to what the Bible says that Christ takes care of his people. One cannot fail to notice that the Good Shepherd sculpture is made of marble. The artist who came up with the statue put a lot of work to the artwork as marble is a severe form of material tow apply and bring a great by-product. The individual is holding a sheep on the shoulders while three small sheep lay on the feet. One can imagine that the sheep at the feet were comfortable as they feel secure and, at the same time, get warmth from the shepherd.
The individual who represents Christ has curly hair and seems young, looking at how the face has been depicted. One concludes that the image represented a youthful Christ who knew of his work of taking care of his flock from an early stage. Observing keenly, one realizes that the individual is holding a tree branch, which can be interpreted as a tool to look after the sheep not to go astray. The dressing of the individual is another important feature that an observer can notice. The texture of the tunic and the rope that has been tied on the waist is of smooth texture. Besides, the marble making the tunic and the rope have been carefully done to fit 'Christ' realistically. The individual has also been made to 'wear' fitting socks that have been folded above the feet.
