I chose the topic because it is one of the most trending worldwide it covers an issue that continues to worsen because of human activity in the environment. Considering that the United States has been at the forefront of solving the global warming problem and viewed other pays of the world as the primary agents that trigger pollution, the country has also contributed to the current state of global warming (Flavelle, 2021). Therefore, environmental pollution and other human activities that accelerate pollution need to be addressed fast by the world economies to minimize its effects on human survival.
Event Summary
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) expresses concern over the current effects of global warming experienced in the different regions of the United States. Alongside the United States government led by President Joe Biden, EPA seeks to turn around the situation and implement measures to protect the environment and reduce pollution because they are the leading causes of global warming (Flavelle, 2021). It is clear that global warming is affecting Americans' health, safety, and homes in many ways; the current administration has decided to work effortlessly towards saving the environment and reducing pollution. The global warming problem is depicted by the increased wildfires, increased heat waves, seas getting warmer, and increased cases of flooding. The Americans used to view global warming as an issue happening in the other parts of the world, but they are currently experiencing it first-hand. The government has revived data updating, collection, and compiling in portraying how global warming affects livelihoods safety and makes life harder for Americans. Notably, updating this data came after the previous administration halted working on it, dismissing global warming (Flavelle, 2021). Former President Donald Trump used to question whether the planet was warming.
