Luke 19: 1-10
In the story of Zacchaeus, Jesus wanted to teach that no man is beyond redemption. In Luke 19:2, Zacchaeus is described as a chief tax collector who was very wealthy. This is an important description because the source of his wealth will be revealed later on, giving an important lesson. Furthermore, Zacchaeus is described as a short man who really desired to see Jesus, so he opted to climb a Sycamore fig tree. In Luke 19:4, Zacchaeus seemed unconcerned about his stature or wealth (Naseri, 2019). In Jewish culture, it would be considered shameful for a man to climb a tree because he would be exposed to those that pass beneath. However, Zacchaeus was willing to do anything, even if it cost him his dignity to see ...
