Hinduism is one of the major religions in the world. Hinduism allows the widest freedom concerning faith and worship. The religion is different from others in that it is not based on a particular doctrine or the observance of a particular ritual or a form of worship. Additionally, a Hindu is not forced by religion to accept a particular form of worship. Therefore, all kinds of faiths, forms of worship, rituals, and customs amongst Hindu communities are developed in harmony with one another. Hinduism does not rebuke individuals who deny God as the creator and ruler of the world and also those who do not accept there is an eternal soul and a state of liberation. Such individuals are also not viewed as unfit to hold titles such as pious or become honorable members of the Hindu society. The Hindu has a multitude of gods and goddesses while other regions such as Islam and Christianity believe in one God (Sivananda, 1999).
The encounter of Hindus with other religious provides a platform of enrichment through traditions and experiences with God. The Hindu teachings depict God as the father, mother as well as the grandparent of the universe. Therefore, it would be contradictory for the religion to admit that there are two or more absolutes. The mentality would make the Hindu religion polytheists. Hence, Hinduism belief that there is a common object of quest and worship in all the religions. Additionally, Hinduism recognizes that despite the fact that people are from various religions they can speak differently and contradict ways about the same reality (Rambachan, 2000).
Hinduism has contributed in the lives of people seeking a spirituality that surpasses restrained religious thoughts. Many Americans are gradually getting indulged in the Hindu religion. The religion has influenced the American culture through the mental workout of yoga. Hinduism has also contributed to the American culture through pop culture. The transformation of music has led to the blending of religious Hindu mantras and other forms of music from Bollywood with western pop. Additionally, many Americans believe and know about karma and their decisions are influenced by it.
Hindus have faced discrimination in Pakistan. The non-Muslim citizens in the Islamic country are subjected to a religious form of apartheid. Many Hindu temples in the country have been desecrated and destroyed. Alternatively, some temples have been made government offices.
