What Makes A Villain
Villains are depicted in various ways throughout the film’s art forms. There is no convention for identifying villains’ traits, particularly concerning what they represent and who they are. In this way, the villain’s representation could be interpreted as stereotypical or cliché. Ned Trent is the main antagonist in the 1994 movie The Specialist. He plays the role of antagonizing the police explosives department.

A depicts the Trent’s evil character in the above pie chart, whereas B depicts his good traits. His bad character is characterized by his reckless behavior whereby he kills innocent bystanders to realize his goals. I think Trent behaved in a way that hurts other people as part of his antagonist role, depicts a conflict between the bad and the good, and creates tension. In this way, he establishes the much-needed curiosity among the viewers (Şükrü, 2018). Sukru further reiterated that the “pathology of evil” has remained an issue of curiosity and interest since ancient times and a critical subject within philosophical and religious discourses.
