1. If the Emerging Adulthood stage was officially adopted by psychologists, how would we determine if an individual was in adolescence, emerging adulthood, or early adulthood? The traditional cycle where kids finished school, started careers, had families, and eventually retired has faced some alteration that extends to the adulthood timetable. Emerging adulthood is a stage where there is a need for more education, and young people are less interested in marriage since premarital sex or cohabitation is accepted. Adolescents, on the other hand, are mature enough to choose their legal guardians in case of the death of their parents. According to Henig (2010), adolescents go through emotional upheaval, rebelliousness, sorrow, an increase in sensation and are more susceptible to media influences. This group also struggles for intimacy. Emerging adulthood is characterized by self-focused young people who are uncertain about the future yet still optimistic.
