Essay Instructions:

Reading: Chapter 10
For this assignment, you are to track interactions in an intimate relationship for 5 days. If you are in a romantic relationship, you can choose to track your own patterns. If you are not in a relationship, or would prefer not to track your own interactions, you can request that someone you know track his or her interactions over the course of the week and interview him or her.
First, track times that good news was shared by one of the partners in the relationship and the response of the partner, and times that support was offered.
At the end of the 5 days, for each instance in which good news was shared, note the type of response that the partner provided (according to Gable’s categorization) and for each time support was offered, note which type of support it was and whether or not it matched the recipient’s preferred type of support.
Additionally, note whether you think attachment theory or equity theory best describes why the relationship works and download and complete the Sternberg’s Triangular Love Scale (Links to an external site.), noting the type of love shared in the relationship.
