3.1 Research Questions
Based on the arguments in the literature review sections above, this study aims to investigate the following research questions:
Research Question 1:
What is the relationship between the structural characteristics of the capital market cycle and economic cycle?
Research Question 2:
How do volatilities and stages of capital market cycle compare to volatilities and stages of business cycle?
Research Question 3:
What impact (s) do volatilities and stages of capital market cycle versus volatilities and stages of economic cycle have on the country’s business operation?
3.2 Research Hypothesis and Framework
Several factors (independent variables) will be investigated regarding their impact on capital market cycle. The independent variables that are to be tested in this study include volatility and stages of the cycles. The dependent variable is the impact of business activities in capital market cycle and economic cycle. The hypotheses of this study are as follows:
