The article "Law, structural racism, and the COVID-19 pandemic" focuses on disparities in COVID‐19 with racial and ethnic minority populations disproportionally affect, partly because of racial health disparities. Yearby & Mohapatra (2020) argue that structural racism is one of the major causes of racial health disparities, and it disadvantages minorities and law is of structuring systems. There are higher COVID‐19 mortality rates among minorities in urban areas with limited access to healthcare, tests, and treatment. These social determinants, in turn, create conditions that leave people of color more susceptible to chronic diseases, including asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and obesity, that make these populations more vulnerable to COVID-19.
