Assignment Statement :  One page (22 lines of text minimum content) which expresses your best understanding of what your IKAGI (purpose in life,  reason for living) currently consists.  Typed, double spaced, Calibri Font size 11 (Word default).  Then, on the second page, you are to list some goals you have set for yourself. (See PART TWO)
The IKAGI assignment is based upon our “BLUE ZONE” coverage. Substantial notes in the course content section of the LMS page, including a twenty minute TED talk on the Blue Zone philosophy.
Assignment Details :What is you raison d’etre ?  What motivates you to get up in the morning and proceed throughout your day ?   
The “BLUE ZONE” material demonstrates how important it seems to be to have a very strong belief in your overall purpose in life, or IKAGI……  Centarians were able to verbalize concretely the value they felt they gave to their family and larger community. 
In personality psychology, a sense of value to others has been linked with overall levels of content with life and happiness. Carl Jung referred to a lack of meaningful purpose in life as “Metapathology” , and is linked with both depression and narcissism.  
So, what is your purpose in life ?  What makes life worth living from your perspective.
Please review all of the Blue Zone notes, and make sure you watch the Blue Zone TED talk by Dan Buettner before starting this assignment, so you have a concrete idea of what a good Ikagi statement contains.

As I read the book, The Blue Zones, I discovered that many people can live over 100 years in the Blue Zones compared to other areas on earth. the researchers were studying the lives of the octogenarians to establish their secrets to long and healthy living. I found one of the secrets to be Ikigai.
The reason I get out of bed everyday is to work on projects that reimagine society. I have spent many years trying to find a reason for getting out of bed. It is refreshing to having found this purpose. My health as well as wellbeing have fast improved during the last few years. The main reason for this cannot be attributed to the diets I have followed or the healthy choices I have made, but because of living with a sense of purpose. This platform supports all the other decisions I must make.
