Schizoid personality is one of many personality disorders that affect mental and emotional health. A person with this personality type tends to be unfriendly, loner, absent-minded, less talkative, self-sheltered, secretive, and lacks social skills. Individuals lack social interaction interest by detaching themselves from it and are believed to be incapable of forming a deep emotional connection with people around them (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). As a result of that situation, they tend to have no interest in forming close relationships with friends, confidants, or relatives, and if they form, it is in infrequent circumstances.
