Part II:
Create a Task Analysis and Describe a Chaining Procedure
In this unit, you discussed ways to establish new behavior. For this Discussion Board, you will choose a behavior to teach your client, Nia. Nia is a 14-year-old female with autism who communicates using sign language and picture exchange communication. Choose a behavior to teach Nia that will be applicable to her classroom setting. Design a task analysis and describe a chaining procedure to teach this skill.

Part I
A voice-output communication device is a perfect strategy for conversing with a child with ASD. Concerning ASD, hand-held electronic devices are essential in playing words as a person presses keys. The significance of these devices is also attributable to the utilization of readily available, common electronics like laptops, smartphones, or tablets to meet the overall purpose. Based on DSM-5, severe ASD is related to deficits in nonverbal or verbal communication (Wendt et al., 2019; Lorah et al., 2022). The benefits of speech-generating devices to fix this challenge include greater participation of an autistic child in natural settings, ease of understanding messages, and a capability for immediate voice output (Wendt et al., 2019). The disadvantages include the need to research improving and evolving these devices to maintain accuracy, users’ inability to produce novel messages, and a limitation on the length of recordings based on the device being used. However, these devices benefit a child with autism by allowing the individual to have an auditory and visual representation of vocabulary words.
Part II
