Three pregnancy complications that can affect infant developments between the ages of 0 and 2 are anemia, obesity, and toxoplasmosis. Iron-deficiency anemia means that the pregnant woman does not have enough iron, which functions to carry oxygen to all body parts. During pregnancy, the body iron requirement is almost double, and lack of it can lead to premature birth and low birth weight (OASH, 2019). Obesity during pregnancy also affects the development of the infant between the ages of 0 and 2. As informed by Gaillard et al. (2016), apart from risks of stillbirth and fetal death, obesity during pregnancy can result in congenital disabilities. In regards to toxoplasmosis, pregnant women can get infected with it when they handle contaminated soil. They can pass it to the fetus, causing cognitive visual impairments during infancy and later in life (Berk, 2018).
