How I Can Apply Statistics Concept to Everyday Life
Statistical methods are employed in conducting studies by collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and making deductions from the data obtained. It is used to analyze what is happening in the world around us. A proper use of statistic can give us a trend of the past occurrence, which can then be used to create a model to be used to make future predictions.
Statistics has many uses in every day’s life. For example, I apply statistical concepts to decide the appropriate time to leave home to get to work, go to school or get ready for interview or appointment (Venkatesh 2015). I also use statistics on deciding the appropriate clothing to wear or whether to carry an umbrella before leaving home by analyzing the information giving by weather forecasters who uses models generated from statistics to make weather predictions. On the highway I use statistics to decide which lane to drive on to avoid being stuck in a traffic jam. In addition, I use statistics to determine the best time to buy, sell, or hold shares in the stock market. The mentioned are just but a few instances where I use statistics because statistics is applied daily whether knowingly or unknowingly (Venkatesh 2015).
