Six Sigma Project - Measure Phase Assignment

As part of your completion of the Six Sigma Black Belt Specialization, you will be required to complete a Six Sigma Project under the direction of a Black Belt, Master Black Belt or Champion within an organization for which you are affiliated. In the Measure Phase, you will be asked to complete and deliver evidence (in the form of artifacts) to document your progress.

At a minimum, the following items will be required for the Measure Phase. You are also at liberty to provide artifacts for other tools you deem to be necessary. Include these in the Summary of Next Steps submission.

·        Executive Summary - You will provide a summary analysis of all tools provided along with their findings.

Additionally, you will provide responses for the overarching questions

a) Precisely define what problems are occurring.

b) How you prioritized and selected critical input, process and output measures

c) What you have done to validate the measurement system

d) What patterns are exhibited in the data

e) Do you believe there was an appropriate use of tools?

f) What tools did you use beyond each required tools? Why did you use these tools? What benefit did you gain as result of using these tools?

g) Do you believe the project is ready to move to the next phase? Why or why not?

h) If the project is not ready, what measures need to be taken to recover? Provide details on steps, timing, impact, and benefit to the project.

i) Does the project charter, problem, scope of other aspect of the project need to be refined? Please explain

Setup instructions:

Prepare an artifact in the form of a pdf file for each required deliverable above.

How to submit:

You will submit an artifact for each required area detailed in the overview.

Each artifact will be offered in a separate file. If you have artifacts to submit from optional tools, please amend to the Summary of Next Steps artifact and submit as one file. The executive summary artifact shall be a document. The other deliverables can be in any suitable form.

Make sure to include an artifact for all required deliverables.

How to create your assignment:

Each deliverable can be created in any environment, such as Word or Excel, but should converted to a pdf prior to submission. Ensure that your converted file is formatted and clear such that a peer reviewer can easily view and follow your deliverable

Guidelines for the assignment:

Your executive summary shall consist of a short summary analysis document of each deliverable. The summary analysis for each deliverable shall provide an overview, reasoning, and interpretation for each deliverable grounded in the artifact included. Discuss your findings and conclusion for each deliverable as well as how each deliverable will be used in the overall aim of your project. Additionally, provide responses for each of the overarching questions as part of the executive summary. Include each question followed by your response.

For each deliverable, you will provide an artifact as evidence.
