Every organization needs both the vision and the mission statements to define its strategies. These statements are critical elements that provide the company with the guidelines for developing its objectives. The vision and mission statements give the foundation for the organization’s goals. Both service and product-based companies require vision and mission communication to achieve the organizations’ goals and objectives. These statements offer insights into the role of the business, value, and direction. Looking at Chick-fil-A and Costco’s vision and mission statement, a comprehensive approach allows review of the function and role of these statements in the success of the businesses.

The Chick-fil-A vision is to celebrate God by being a faithful steward of all shared with us. To have a positive impact on all who interact with Chick-fil-A while its mission is to be America’s best fast assistance restaurant at winning and keeping clients. On the other hand, Costco’s vision is to be where efficient buying and operating practices give members access to unmatched savings. Its mission is to continually provide its members with quality goods and services at the lowest possible prices.
Similarities

The statement emulates the perceived outcomes aspirations in the future. Both visions comprise having an innate belief and honest indoctrination to stewardship to anchor the companies to success. These visions declare benevolent, meaningful, and powerful definitions of the company’s commitment to elevating from one level to another. Both visions illustrate the need to promote their customers to a position of prestige and power.
Furthermore, these visions are future-oriented and paint a clear picture of the direction and path to follow. With a key focus on the positive attributes, the vision serves as a rallying call, affirmation to engage in positive, meaningful activities that make a tangible difference in society. These organizations show their innate desire to smile on every customer’s face through their vision statement.
In the same vein, Chick-fil-A and Costco’s mission statements share similar characteristics.
