SWOT Analysis for Almarai
Since the commencement of Almarai, the organization has demonstrated the ability to capitalize on opportunities while maintaining its strengths. The company founder identified a chance in the dairy farming sector in Saudi Arabia and decided to capitalize on the opportunity. The prince evaluated the domestic market necessities and noted an increase in demand. The prince desired to transform traditional farming to correspond to the identified opportunity. Capitalization of identified opportunities facilitated the development of multiple agricultural projects. The projects started by milk and laban processing in modern daily farms. Also, Almarai concentrated on advanced technology in the production process and hired skilled workers in the enterprise. Advanced technology in dairy farming increases milk yield, improves milk quality, and minimizes production costs. Almarai noted a weakness in their staff. Unskilled workers who cannot operate machinery in the organization can lead to multiple risks. Also, workers with limited skills are less productive compared to skilled workers. The acquisition eliminated the threats brought by competition in the market. The organization assessed the need for another bakery opportunity in a different location and capitalized on the opportunity by opening an original bakery organization in Al-Kharj. The organization collaborated with Chipita and Olayan Finance Company under the modern company industry umbrella. The enterprise merger was aimed at establishing the 7DAYS brand. Also, the company endeavored into poultry farming by buying Hail Agricultural Development Company in 2009. The success witnessed in poultry farming led to the developing of a new poultry brand known as Alyoum. The organization ventured into infant nutrition in the following year by constructing a new plant in Al-Kharj, the first infant nutrition in the region. The staffing weakness was addressed by including experts and partnering with Mead Johnson Nutrition. The main threats in the enterprise are competition from other enterprises in the market.
