Risks are elements that make the actual project outcome differ from the expected outcomes; for instance, the common examples of risks in agile are less predictability, scope creep and budget risks (Buganová & Šimíčková, 2019). The paper addresses ways of managing risks in agile and compares agile to traditional project management.

Risk management in agile is a critical aspect that every project manager should consider. Agile provides a reliable opportunity for recognizing and mitigating risks. The processes of mitigating risks are good engineering practices, continuous feedback and cross-functional teams (Tavares et al., 2019). The identified approaches create a high level of transparency, creating a better chance of determining any available risks. Besides, the team can focus on the sprint goals and other deliveries during the project process. Therefore, there is a need to create a forecast using a sprint plan. The team should also focus on the sprint goal and backlogs. It becomes easy to manage risks in agile whenever the identified processes are effectively followed.
