Specifically, the company is an active participant in the bond markets, where it raises capital for its operation and expansion internationally. According to Joshua (2022), Amazon sold bonds worth $18.5 billion in May of the previous year to enhance corporate purposes, which comprised potential debt refinancing and repurchasing shares. The firm's cash, equivalents, and tradeable securities remained at $96 billion as of 2021; this was the highest amount ever reached.
