As the world continues developing, fields such as human resource management (HRM) are facing the uphill task of keeping up with globalization and technological advancements, and how they impact HRM. This essay will look at some of the ways of managing human resources in the international context while also considering the implications of technological advancement in this process, then consider how organizations can be strategic with their employees to ensure maximum productivity.
Within the globalization context, HRM has to shift from traditional models of staffing, selection, and coaching of global leaders (Youssef, Stark, & Bridgepoint Education Inc., 2014). Global leaders are characterized by their capacity to manage within a multicultural context but need the prerequisite training and management tools to succeed in any international assignments.
