Organizational behavior and management encompasses many aspects including the Human Resource concepts of job range, job depth and job relationships. While job range relates to the duties and responsibilities concerning a particular role that are assigned to an employee, job depth refers to the inclusion of employees in decision-making and encouraging them to take accountability in improving their performance (Azhar and Hassan, 2014). One notable role in successful organization is that of the Human Resource Manager whose primary roles is to manage and organize employees from diverse background and with different responsibilities to work together as a team to achieve the company’s objectives. The HR manager is tasked with overseeing the operation of the HR department that ensures that the organization is sufficient resourced with skilled and qualified employees.
The HR Manager at Walmart plays a fundamental role in ensuring that all the employees in the organization are productive. The HR manager is involved in recruitment, performance management, HR policy formulation, development of employee compensation plans and benefit packages, and ensuring the safety of all Walmart employees across the different outlets (Walmart.com, 2020). Labor is an essential capital component at Walmart and as such, the HR manager ensures that there are adequate and effective policies in that regard. The manager not only ensures that Walmart recruits skilled and qualified employees but also that there are regular training programs inclined at improving their knowledge and abilities concerning their roles in the organization. The HR manager at Walmart also promotes a high performance culture through sensitizing quality in service delivery and empowering employees to be proactive in not only achieving the organizational objectives but also in the career growth and development.
