my story is, I'm from the third-world country, (Asmara Eritrea), East Africa.
I grew up in a poor family, I'm the first to attend college. when I was growing up there was a shortage of health care and I witnessed many sick people and some even dying. since I was a child I always liked to help people. I volunteered at the veteran hospital also went to the rular area with missionary nurses from Canada to help many underserved people. I also volunteered for a much nonprofit organization. after I came to America I worked to jobs and helped my family back home and also helped many families while I was going to school. after I graduate I would like to work with the elderly population and the underserved population. I plan to seasonally volunteer as a missionary nurse. I plan to organize not profit clinic in the rular areas for the valuable.

1 What has motivated you to stay in school and aspire to become a nurse?
The motivation behind following the path of a nursing career is the state of environment I grew up in with my entire family. I hail from Asmara, Eritrea: One of the small and developing countries in Eastern Africa. Among the challenges, my country faces, access to healthcare has been an acute problem. Firsthand experience from my personal life has been pivotal to driving my aspirations. As a child, I witnessed many people suffer and succumb to non-critical conditions due to either a shortage of medical care or financial instability. I am a humble and compassionate individual who believes that every person is entitled to the access of proper medical care regardless of their status in the society. This issue sensitized and compelled me, leading to a self-instigated oath that I would do my best to help serve the underserved: however substantial my efforts will be, they will turn out significant to the society.

I grew up in a financially unstable family where I studied under difficult situations. Most of my siblings had to forgo school so that my college fees could be catered for. I am the first child to go to college and my parents lived on meager salaries so as to support our livelihood. Personally, I had to search for alternative ways so that I could help my siblings and family cope with life. This lead me to America as a student, and I obtained a few odd jobs so that I could fully provide a decent education for my family. I also help support many families from the neighboring communities back home through sponsoring them most times due to their financial constraints. My dream has always been to acquire an education that will help shape a stable career for my future and also give me the opportunity to serve the underserved people.
