Technology has affected many aspects and life as we know it has changed. One of the aspects that have changed is concerning work. People are now working on a job by job basis, or what is commonly known as “uberization of work.” Through the uberization of work, many people have ventured in jobs that offer them flexibility since they do not have to work for scheduled hours. I believe that this trend will affect many careers, mine included. As Khosrow-Pour (2019) reveals, uberization has the potential to transform the entire economy and how people think about employment and their jobs. While the uberization of work seems to be a popular concept with associated benefits, my key question is how people working in the on-demand economy can have job security and benefits that traditional employees have.
Along the globalization continuum, I am at the global end of the continuum. I believe that through globalization, people have gotten jobs in non-traditional platforms.
