Site C Dam Issue
The Site C Dam is one of the most contested issues in British Columbia. With either of the two factions citing reason as to why they are supporting or are against the project in general. The area in question lies to the North East corner of British Columbia, on the beautiful Peace Valley which is home to the First Nation people. It contains fertile agricultural lands, boreal forests and is also one of the most important wildlife corridors along the Yellowstone and Yukon chain corridor. There are two dams on the valley already and the Site C Dam is going to make the third. There has been a heated debate between the two main rival parties, that is, the Green Party and the British Columbia New Democratic Party. With the latter fighting to have the dam elected while the former feels that the Dam is going to have negative impacts not just on the people in the valley but also on the environment.
