The research attempts to investigate the impact of human resource management (HRM) practices on employee retention. According to Festing and Schдfer (2014), the leadership approach embraced by an organization has an immediate impact on employee retention. In this light, researchers show that there is an array of leadership activities that increase the possibilities of an employee staying with an organization such as engagement of the workforce in decision making in transformational and democratic leadership. On the contrary, some practices such as limited employee engagement in organizational activities in autocratic leadership, compromise employee retention (Ghafoor, Qureshi, Khan, & Hijazi, 2011). Drawing from these insights, one of the key research questions in the research states; what is the impact of HRM leadership across different organizational levels on employee retention.
Investigating the role of HRM in employee retention requires taking a broad perspective across different organization operations.
