Due to the covid 19 pandemic, social isolation has interfered with communication and led to communication differences, especially in-person communication. Such differences include minimal use of facial expressions, gestures, and mirroring. The recent changes have triggered a shift to interacting through skype, zoom, and Imo, unlike in regular times when people met and talked in person. Although these platforms assist people to remain in contact, they limit applying communication styles such as body postures and hand gestures. However, the use of facial expressions has remained dominant to complement the shortcomings.
