Privacy is one of the important aspects of an individual’s life that plays a substantial role of giving them the confidence that they require in order to feel comfortable while in public. However, with the continued changes in lifestyle, some of the notions that comes along with privacy have changed and a good example is the case of Reality TV shows. Most of the aspects associated with Reality TV display the true life of an individual because it made to show the world what it means to live a normal life on camera as opposed to the fiction and lies that are evidenced in movies. Regardless of the fact that the directors of the shows have to guide the individuals on what to do in some parts, most of the show is made to show how real life is and what people are expected to be whether on camera or not. Therefore, this paper will focus on the reasons as to why I think Reality TV is important in people’s lives. Among the reasons is the fact that doing what someone likes makes them proud hence bring the confidence to tackle difficult issues in life, success comes along with sacrifice and also teaches that jobs are not conventional (Nabi & Keblusek, 2014).
Reality TV is important because it plays the role of showing the people that doing anything that a person loves makes them proud and hence bringing out the confidence that is necessary to maneuver in life. This is well reflected by celebrity Reality shows whereby they work their best to go through a day that is full of criticism and hatred from their fans. In a normal life, such criticism and hatred from other people are expected to demoralize a person in carrying out their daily activities. However, through Reality TV, such people are able to show the world that they are in love and proud of what they are doing and hence, gaining more confidence that is necessary for them to live throughout their celebrity life. On the other hand, such people would be feeling ashamed of themselves and in turn, ignore their career by hiding behind doors (Jaeger, Joyce & Kaestner, 2016). However, given the fact that they have the chance to show the world what they can do, then I think that Reality TV is a good show to have on our televisions. It offers the encouragement that is necessary to go through difficult situations in life hence acting as a motivational tool to individuals who have had second thoughts of probably giving up in life.
In addition, the shows in Reality TV are a good example that success does not just come easily but requires a lot of sacrifice and commitment. In most of the shows, it is evidenced that the people involved have to work hard in front of the cameras regardless of what the world thinks in order to achieve their goals. Therefore, this acts as a motivation to other people in order for them to keep on putting more effort in whatever they do in order to ensure that they succeed.
