Tim McGraw was born in Louisiana on May1967 to Frank McGraw and Elizabeth D’Agostino (Huettl, 2011). However, given that his parents were not married at the time, Tim was raised by a stepfather until he discovered the identity of his biological father at the age of 11. As a youngster, Tim’s interests lay in such competitive sports as baseball, and he only started developing interest in music when he went to college where he learnt to play the guitar and would sing for money. Interestingly, when Tim and his mother moved to Florida in 1987, Tim joined the local bands and eventually left college in 1989 to pursue a career in music (Wooten, 2010). Based on this background, this paper intends to discuss Tim McGraw, his activities, major successes, the goals he has accomplished and his life in general. Throughout his career as an artist, Tim McGraw has engaged himself in several distinguished roles. To begin with, Tim McGraw has been primarily involved in singing. Tim was signed up as singer by Curb Records in the early 1990s. Consequently, he has been able to record numerous award winning country music singles and albums. Secondly, Tim has also been involved in song writing. Besides writing some of his own songs, he has also co-written songs for such bands as Def Leppard. Thirdly, Tim has also successfully taken up several acting roles. He has featured in such episodes and films as The Jeff Foxworthy Show, Black Cloud, Flicka, Friday Night Lights, Dirty Girl, Country Strong, The Kingdom, and The Blind Side among others. Lastly, Tim participates in charity where he organizes events to raise funding for humanitarian services in various communities (Huettl, 2011). Thus, Tim McGraw has been involved in singing, songwriting, acting and charitable roles. Admittedly, Tim McGraw has a number of major successes under his belt. Firstly, Tim has been able grow from an amateur guitarist to an accomplished guitar player and singer. This is evidenced by his ability to record the best-selling singles and albums in the country music genre. Secondly, some of his music such as the Indian Outlaw and others were also able to grace the top-ten list and the pop chart shortly after he launched his music career. Similarly, some of his albums have been ranked as the number one country with others ranking the highest on the Billboard. Thirdly, Tim has won such awards as the Academy of Country Music award for being the best male vocalist and producing the best albums in country music, the American Music Awards and the Grammy Awards.
