PHILOSOPHICAL APPROACH ON POLITICAL THOUGHT AND EXPERIENCE
Liberal thought is one of the issues addressed in the reading of “political thought “that is significant to politics. Liberal thought is defined as an assumption that progress is possible and likely in human affairs. The article has also included the critical meaning of progress which is said to mean different things to different people. I think that the author has also related a critical meaning of liberal thought by saying that it is an optimistic system of political thought that one can expect progress and provide a political and economic program that generate progress.
I think that the origin of liberal thoughts is described very well in a broad span, for example, it is found in the notion that an individual is the basic unit of human society and must be held sacred. In my opinion, the roots of liberal thoughts are not just centered in among individuals, but are something collective and should relate to everyone in the society who are affected by politics of any kind. I also second the fact that every individual should be held responsible for their actions and to be credited for their achievements (MaClean, &Wood, 2014).
I think that liberation is based on Locke’s political philosophy. I think that liberation helps in different aspects of the society, including the economy as explained in the article that self-interested individuals maximize the efficiency of economic growth over time.
