Families provide us with a peaceful and sustainable environment to live, grow and develop. Parents are primarily responsible for establishing an ideal family culture and children move on in their lives with the same values, traditions, and beliefs. A healthy family is where every person stays loyal to the others, takes care of the morals, cooperates in all circumstances, and works along with others to avoid conflicts. Parents try to raise their children well and teach them basic manners, strengthening and enforcing the family relationship. A lot of things can cause conflicts among a family, such as infidelity, jealousy, and the way parents raise their kids. Jealousy is the natural counterpart of love; when you love someone with sincerity and honesty, you will want them to listen to you and be with you all the time. In return, if they do not commit themselves to you but someone else, then you may feel jealous. Anything that threatens the commitment, whether it is a hobby, a job or another individual, can cause jealousy, leading to various problems and issues.
My younger brother had the same kind of mentality in his childhood and teenage. I am seven years elder than him, and we belong to a religious family. Our parents used to pay equal attention to both of us, but the mother was habitual of spending more time with me thinking that I was her best friend. It did not mean she ignored my brother. He was basically a naughty boy, and she used to spend a lot of time teaching us the secrets of success. However, nothing could work as expected since my brother developed feelings of restlessness. Once he openly told mom that he was jealous of me because of her habit of paying more attention to me and ignoring him in some situations.
Our father and mother wanted me to grow well as they knew that I would have to go to another house and begin a new life right after my marriage. This is the only reason why the mother used to spend more time with me. She wanted me to learn how to cook food, how to manage the house, how to clean things, and how to please the whole family. Obviously, it took her a lot of time to teach me all this, but deep inside, my brother felt bad about that as he was not ready to understand anything.
