Have you ever wondered what would be a personal moment in your life that would affect you in some way? Well, I never thought about it until today that I am asked to find one. It started as an ordinary day with clear weather, but I felt lazy, and I just wanted to stay indoors. Seconds later, I heard a soft knock on the door. “Honey, are you awake?” my mother asked. She sounded concerned, and I responded with a murmur, which I assumed she had heard since she walked away. I woke up and went to meet my mother, and what happened next was not what I had anticipated. This was a moment that really affected me and turned my life upside-down since it was the day my parents told me that I would become a sister. I lost my personal space, and I often had to separate the baby’s clothes and even toys combined with my things. My room used to smell like a baby’s shop with all the new clothes and items for the baby. My mother was not calm when it came to my behavior, and I felt that the child would have a long-term effect on family dynamics like how I interacted with my parents. I was also worried about whether the situation will improve.
The transition from an only child to having another kid at home was not easy at all. I started realizing that now it was impossible to have the attention of everyone all the time, and this hurts a lot. During the pregnancy, my mother often focused on her pregnancy and did not spend a lot of time with me. She was often resting, and she no longer helped me with my homework. I also noticed that she was also talking more often about the upcoming birth with my father, and she even forgot to attend a school event s...
