Major Differences Between Confucianism and Daoism
Daoism and Confucianism are two different religions that complement each other and grew mainly in China, but they have different emphases. Lao-tzu wrote Daoism, and it pertains to the way of nature and immorality, thus offering an appropriate way to behave and lead others (Graham & Chan,1964). On the other hand, Confucianism is the belief system of the thinkers Confucius, which represents one of the essential philosophies that developed in China. There are other notable differences between the two religions, which have made a significant impact on the faith, tradition, and beliefs of the Chinese.
In philosophy, Daoism is about the laws of nature, particularly finding the person's way of life through the landscape and encouraging a person to comprehend the natural values. Action is, therefore, vital in Daoism. Lao-Tzu says, "When nothing is done, nothing is left undone" (Graham & Chan,1964).
