* Executive Summary
This paper is set out to analyze the case. The major problem faced by the museum is three-pronged including globalization, growing awareness and the tendency of people to preserve their cultural identity. In the present age, museums need to incorporate the impression of inclusivity and diversity. Therefore, it is advised that all museums replicate the approach used by the Museum of World Culture to give representation to each culture in its collections.
* Identification of Key Stakeholders
In the case, key stakeholders include visitors, museum administration, management, owners, and diverse range of ethnic groups within a society. All these stakeholders are impacted by key decisions. Management and administration are more concerned about the performance of the museum at financial levels while visitors seek valuable knowledge. As for ethnic groups, they need their fair depiction in the art showcased in museums (Liu, Volcic, and Gallois, 2014; Dibley, 2018). Hence, all these groups are likely to have an impact as well as be affected by the key decisions and initiatives taken pertaining to museums.
* Statement of the Problem
Trends of globalization are on a rise, requiring the museums to shift to an inclusive model. The diverse range of ethnic groups in the citizenry of any region wants their representation in the galleries of museums. Any unfair or biased version of a culture presented in a museum is likely to be backfired (Ang, 2018). Therefore, museums are under more pressure than ever before with regard to their functional and educational approach.
* Causes of Problems
One major cause of the problem is the emerging trends of globalization, which have brought people from different cultures together (Johnson, 2018). Another reason is the growing awareness regarding the importance of inclusivity (Carayannis et al., 2018). A third major reason is the tendency of people to preserve their culture and maintain their cultural identity despite seeking the ways to collaborate with others (Liu, Volcic, and Gallois, 2014).
