Prior studies suggest that many people from other countries are willing to study in the United States of America (USA). Jeonghyun Kim asserts that around 900,000 students from different parts of the world were admitted in schools in the USA between 2013 and 2014 (Kim, 2015). The high-ranking academic institutions in the country are enviable since they maintain quality scholastic standards and are well-funded (Pop, 2019). These schools have highly skilled educators and relevant resources to facilitate learning that arms learners with the most appropriate knowledge and skills in the digital era.
Shellie Karabell reveals that studying abroad enables students to become the best leaders in the future when they return to their countries of origin. In other words, the international exposure experienced by learners in the USA nurtures them to embrace diversity, gain problem-solving skills, and value individuals’ cultural differences. As such, both parents and their children want to study in the USA so that they can acquire the best leadership skills and probably change the functioning of their local organizations positively. Based on the Egon Zehnder’s Global Board Index report of 2015, about 7.2% of firms in the world have foreign directors, and approximately 14.1% have leaders who have international work experience (Karabell, 2016). Specifically, students studying in the USA get relevant knowledge and skills that enable them to make good decisions, which are based on proper research and statistical analysis. For this reason, they become excellent leaders in various organizations.
Almost everyone wants to have the best career and life experiences. In that light, many people are willing to study in the USA since it is among the countries that have renowned education institutions with a superb reputation. For example, a student that wants to acquire relevant and current knowledge in computer science would be happy to join the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Software engineers, computer scientists, and physicists who studied at MIT are highly recognized in the job market. In particular, about 50% of the most reputable universities are found in the USA (Vioreanu, 2019). Apart from MIT, other top-ranking institutions of higher education are Columbia University, Northeastern University, John Hopkins University, and Washington State University. The USA has the largest population of international students, which is around 1 million. Consequently, many individuals would want to study in the USA so that they can gain relevant knowledge and become highly competitive in the current job market.
The USA is the home to some of the highly qualified scientists, scholars, business people, leaders, and researchers. Some of these individuals are Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and Barrack Obama. As a way of giving back to the community, these people have introduced various programs that benefit the best students in various universities.
