Journal Entries Listening To Homophonic Texture Of Music

Essay Instructions:

From the end of Week 3 to the start of Week 4, we have discussed musical texture. Now that all three primary textures have been explained (monophony, polyphony, homophony), please consider the following:
Upon examination of your own personal music library (iTunes, Spotify, etc), which texture do you find yourself most-frequently listening to, or seems to be the most prevalent in your catalog?
Whether for musical reasons, or reasons relating to your own personal sense of musical aesthetics or tastes, do you find certain textures more inherently "interesting" to listen to? Is there a texture that you find difficult to listen to?
Is there an aspect of texture that you find confusing? If you have questions about it, feel free to ask and provide an appropriate musical example to help clarify any confusions you might have.
I will be posting my own entry in this forum at some point during the course of the week. You are more than welcome to respond if you so choose!
