In studying the Justinian Plague through the lens of history, I came to understand that the historical records are the means to approximately explain the early a long term medical disaster that can be prevented in the present and not remain in the future. Understanding the history of the Justinian Plague provides an important role for designing case studies that aims to further examine the impact of the disease and the find the proper intervention needed to identify and mark the disease progression. The results will provide important indicators for the type of drug needed to target the decrease in the susceptibility of the disease. However, I also understood that history can only provide so much information that retracing the exact natural history of the Justinian plague is impossible since most figures about the mortality rates and susceptibility are based on approximations. Though precise historical retracing of the Justinian Plague is based on approximations, I came to understand that these approximations are useful in examining the conception of the disease. Without these approximations, historical background of the disease will not exist. A lack of historical background will be problematic in finding the most effective solution available in tackling the plague even with the current knowledge that our society possess today.
