- Write a 2 1/4 page paper in which you tell your classmates about the TWO best face-to-face, one-to-one, interpersonal communicators you know personally. They could be family members, friends, neighbors, bosses, co-workers, teachers, religious leaders - any "significant other" you know well.
- Explain why you think they are highly competent in interpersonal transactions. BE SPECIFIC and avoid generalized statements. For example, instead of saying "s/he is a good listener," describe exactly what they do and say that makes them a good listener. Describe both their verbal and nonverbal behaviors.
- Your paper must be a full 2 1/4 pages.
- Your paper must be double spaced and use Times New Roman font (12 point).

In this paper, two of the best communicators that the writer knows shall be described based on their characteristics and how they convey their interpersonal communication skills.
One of the most experienced interpersonal communicators is my friend, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology graduate and currently working as a psychologist at a local clinic. This person has excellent interpersonal communication skills because he can convey the message without delay via verbal and nonverbal communication. Specifically, the following are the qualities of this person: First, the psychologist knows how to build rapport at the beginning of the conversation, whether the other communicator is a patient or a friend. According to Master Class (2021), it helps build trust and prevents the other person from hesitating to voice out one’s opinions or sentiments about a particular personal problem, work issue, and others. Rapport establishes a two-way communication from which the one becomes the listener, and the other is the speaker and vice-versa from time to time. It shows how two individuals connect and help them recognize similarities and differences. Second, the psychologist uses a soft voice and knows how to regulate the pitch of the voice depending on the situation. Third, the psychologist helps the other person open up by properly reflecting on what the other has to say or sometimes summarizing the main points of the conversation before proceeding to a more profound topic. Fourth, the psychologist also uses phrases to help the other person expand on the topic. This includes using phrases such as, “please go on.” This assures the other person that the psychologist listens to everything the other has to say. Fifth, the psychologist utilizes nonverbal communication (i.e., body language). For example, during a conversation and the other person is in distress, the psychologist pats that person’s back, leans forward to make sure that the statements are all heard, or scoots the chair forward to ensure that there is just enough distance between them.
