The article explores the grief resolution and coping strategies for oncology nurses by analyzing Saunders and Valente's (1994) bereavement task model. The bereavement task model requires nurses to take four actions when grieving the loss of a patient; find meaning, maintain and restore integrity, manage affect, and lastly redefine the relationships.
