Introduction
The years of College and Graduate Studies at Ashford University were filled with educational progress and a disciplined learning process and applying the principles taught inside the classrooms and books we have read. Now, as an upcoming graduate student, I am fully determined to make my Alma Mater proud. The MAECEL program has taught me the values of acquiring professional characteristics to equip me once I graduate and practice my learnings. These characteristics will help me and all the other graduates become successful in our field of early education teaching and practice.
Personal and Professional Characteristics as a MAECL Graduate
To uphold professionalism in handling students and colleagues in the workplace. It is of great importance to be very respectful in teaching children and communicating with adults. Accordingly, this standard will define the very essence of educational professional preparation programs that will satisfy and meet the competencies of a skilled educator (NAEYC, 2021).
To have a full grasp and expanded knowledge on the principles of the Early Childhood Program. How can we teach if we do not have the disciplined lifestyle of memorizing and learning by heart the content and precepts of this program? Thus, we must be prim and proper in our transactions with our clients and knowledgeable of the pros and cons of this subject matter.
To aim at results rather than popularity. The goal is to teach young children and then further develop my skills as an educator in the level of childhood program. I would set a goal that, in the end, I would see my students become successful in this learning. These valuable characteristics will indeed contribute to my academic success in the MAECEL program.
