Firstly, the two authors see death as another difficulty that should not prevent people from following their dreams because it is inevitable. Dylan Thomas wrote the poem, “do not go gentle into that good night” to his father.. He asks his father to get angry against the dying light. Primarily he pleads his father to ignore inevitable as well as aggressive thoughts of death. Henry Longfellow’s poem, “the psalm of life,” asks the reader about the derailment that always appears from one’s past to live in the present whereas often remaining aware of their final fate of death (Osborne-Bartucca, 2016).
