The rules that have been set by the Electoral System whereby even if an individual has a lot of popular vote loses because of the rules, can be taken as one of the problems that need to be repaired and changed. According to the rules set by the state, there is a winner-take-all-system of selecting the leader (Crisp, Demirkaya, Schwindt-Bayer, & Millian, 2018). In this, people selected to vote on behalf of the state vote taking into consideration the popular vote. Therefore, the leader selected is not based on the national’s popular vote but by the state’s electors and this is what makes republicans win despite losing in the popular votes.
