At Trident, my education experience has provided me with a deeper understanding of the world around me. Through my interactions with other fellow students and instructors, I have discovered the importance of effective communication and also critical thinking. Critical thinking has assisted me in recognizing problems and finding the best way of solving them. This has mainly been through sorting out information and determining what is relevant to a specific situation, understanding and interpreting works of writing and coming to conclusions about my beliefs.
My project management course has equipped me with the skills and knowledge that can be utilized in controlling and managing the introduction of various initiatives and changes. In several classes, I discovered that projects are evaluated in terms of time, scope, procumbent, quality, and cost. This includes several activities that must be done in a specific time, under a fixed budget with the available resources (Wysocki, 2011). In my future career in human resources, this course will be useful as it has allowed me to understand how project management in itself is not restricted to organizational initiatives but can also be applicable on a personal basis. The expectations within a project are that this endeavor must be handled with the proper tools and techniques to achieve the objectives of the project.
One area that piqued my interest is project portfolio management. This involves the manner that an organization controls its projects and effectively aligns them with its business strategies.
