RE: APPLICATION LETTER
“Man’s greatness consists in his ability to do and the proper application of his powers to things needed to be done” are the words of a fugitive slave, abolitionist, entrepreneur, feminist, intellectual, and Rochester luminary Frederick Douglass.  The words inspire me as I look forward to joining and further my studies. Rochester is a community of independent thinkers who create a positive change and make the world “even better.”
Rochester is a top-tier university where I can still get a chance to tailor my own curriculum, giving me the freedom to be in control of what I study; choosing from the many courses they offer. This is in line with their mission to learn, discover, heal and create by embodying the spirit of Meliora. Meliora inspires students to expand the limits of knowledge and tackle the most complex of problems through imagination, exploration, perfection, and innovation.
