Report Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation February 12th, 2019 To: All Employees of Sickle Chain Organization From: XXXX, The Chief Accountant Subject: Adopting to Change Owing to the country’s economic situation that has affected our organization, some changes to help the organization survive the harsh economic times were suggested in a memo written on January 23 this year. The changes included increasing hours that employees work at home in a bid to cut on transportation costs. The experiment that is to run for nine months is aimed at cutting the overall costs and increasing efficiency. While most employees have welcomed the suggestion warmly, resistance from some employees has been noticed. Dealing with Change Change is an inevitable part of modern living. The unpredictability associated with the modern business environment forces firms to adopt changes to help them survive and thrive consistently. While changes are usually meant for the good of the firm and its stakeholders, resistance is usually faced from various quarters. It is human nature to resist change. We are more comfortable in the space that we are used to, and the uncertainty that change brings makes us uncomfortable. The lack of transparency on what is in store for the employees following the implementation of the change is the primary reason why they resist change. Fears of losing jobs, privileges or a change of leadership are also causes of concern among different stakeholders (Burnes, 2015). As much as we are aware of these factors, we must embrace change in order to survive the current economic situation that is bound to extend into the future. Therefore, it is only fair that each member of the organization fully embraces the suggested changes. The organization is committed to guide and walk with each of you in the entire change process.
