Population and the Environment
There is a complex relationship that exists between the environment and the population dynamics. In the last few centuries, the human population has significantly increased causing a global scare on the impact that this is going to have on the environment (Prb.org, 2016). The population directly interacts with the environment for the provision of the various resources. As such, when there is an increase on the population, the environment tends to be impacted significantly. As the population increases, this means that the level of extraction of the various resources from the environment increases (Nova, 2016). More people, for example, mean that there is a need for more space, which leads to clearing of the forests. This also means that there is a rise in the amount of fresh water needed to feed the rising population. At the same time, as most research indicates, the level of pollution has risen with the rise in the population globally.
